Get this new commemorative coin set honoring the Creek Native American Nation. There were two divisions of Creeks who shared traditions but had slightly different dialects. Located across the flatlands of today’s Alabama and Georgia, the Creek economy was based heavily on agriculture. The common reverse is inspired by the tribe’s logo. Each obverse depicts a sacred tradition or noble Chief associated with the Creek Nation:
- 1¢ – honoring beaded turtle rattles
- 5¢ – a nod to the Black Drink Brewing, which was a strong tea made for elderly chief council members believed to rid them of sins and make them invincible
- 10¢ – represents the Stomp Dance which was performed by all tribe members for the well-being of the community
- 25¢ – remembers the 34 Crazy Dog Soldiers of different Native American Tribes meeting at the Creek Council House in 1875
- 50¢ – celebrates the war Chief William Weatherford
- $1 – recognizes Chief Tomochichi
