American Silver Eagle Checklist

This coin checklist will help you start a Silver American Eagle Collection. Most American Eagle silver dollar collections are created by adding one dollar of each date and mint mark combination with the end goal of having one example of each combination for every year in the series. Many people add to their collections by including special burnished and one-year issues.

You can choose coins for your collection in any way and any order you wish. Or, you can try our easy method for new collectors: the Silver American Eagles Starter Collection, below.

Look at the checklist. Beginning with the first year 1986, pick one mint mark either Uncirculated or Proof from those listed to collect. Then, move on to the next date. When you have finished the checklist, you will have one American Eagle silver dollar from every year of the series. At that point you can begin expanding your collection by returning to this checklist and acquiring the remaining mint marks for each year, as well as any variations you find interesting (see Key Dates).
