1976 $2 Federal Reserve Star Note

This star note features the first $2 Federal Reserve Note design – a portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the face and the painting Declaration of Independence on back. When a note is damaged during manufacture, it is replaced by one with a star beside the serial number. These are much scarcer than regular issues.
