Released over 150 years ago, the historic issues in this complete 1864 9-note set are from the final series of Confederate currency. Each piece in this set was released the same year that Lincoln was reelected as president and General Sherman began his march to the sea. It's not often that we're able to accumulate enough of the scarcer pieces to offer you every denomination issued in one complete set – but now we can! Each note honors a historic figure:

  • 50¢ – Jefferson Davis – printed on pink paper, this note depicts the president of the Confederacy. Uniface.
  • $1 – Clement C. Clay – a Confederate senator for Alabama who was later imprisoned as a suspect in the Lincoln assassination plot. Uniface.
  • $2 – Judah P. Benjamin – first attorney general of the Confederacy, involved in Confederate Secret Service. Uniface.
  • $5 – C.G. Memminger – secretary of state from South Carolina. Also shows the Richmond, VA capitol building. Blueback.
  • $10 – Robert M. T. Hunter – Confederate secretary of state. Vignette on the note's face depicts horses pulling a cannon. Blueback.
  • $20 – Alexander Stephens – Confederate vice president. Face depicts the capitol building in Nashville, TN. Blueback.
  • $50 – Jefferson Davis – expected to serve the South as a general, but ended up as president. Blueback.
  • $100 – Lucy H. Pickens & George Randolph – She was known as "Queen of the Confederacy" for financing the troops – he served as Confederate secretary of war. Blueback.
  • $500 – General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson – the only Confederate general depicted on a Confederate Note – and only on this issue! Uniface.
