Customer Reviews

The 1818 half dollar was struck in 89.24% silver at the Philadelphia Mint, birthplace of America's coinage, where production of U.S. coins began in 1793. The 1818 Capped Bust half was produced during the presidency of James Monroe, and depicts the profile of Liberty wearing a cap which is inscribed liberty. The eagle on the reverse bears a shield on its breast, and the motto liberty is on a banner above the eagle.
