1839 Liberty Seated Quarter VG

Designed by Christian Gobrecht, the 90% silver Liberty Seated quarter was introduced in 1838. The obverse depicts Liberty seated on a rock, her left hand holding a liberty cap on a pole, and her right hand holding a shield. Thirteen stars surrounding Liberty represent the original colonies.
