1842-O Liberty Seated Quarter, Large Date

During 1842, the numerals of the date below Liberty on the obverse were enlarged for easier viewing. Available here is the 1842-O Liberty Seated quarter with "Large Date" numerals, struck in 90% silver at the New Orleans Mint. The "O" mint mark for New Orleans is found just below the eagle on the reverse of the coin. Struck from 1838 to 1891, Liberty Seated quarters are precious silver keepsakes of 19th-century America.
