1857 Braided Hair Large Cent, Small Date, Brown

Final year of issue for the popular large cent, struck the same year that the first small-size Flying Eagle cents were struck for circulation. Just 333,546 large cents were struck in 1857. There were two major varieties, the large date and small date issues. The scarcer small date variety is offered here in Gem condition.
