Own one of numismatic history's most famous coins... the legendary 1883 "No Cents" nickel! In 1883 when Liberty nickels first circulated, con men noticed cents wasn't on the reverse, only a large Roman numeral V. Because of similarities in size and design, they palmed off gold-plated nickels as $5 gold pieces. Midway through 1883 the mint added cents to the reverse, creating this one-year-only type nickel.
