Struck well over a century ago, this Morgan silver dollar bears the popular and distinctive "O" mint mark of the New Orleans Mint! During its years of operation, 1838-1861 and 1879-1909, this Gulf Coast mint was located in the famous French Quarter of New Orleans. The 1887-O silver dollar is not overly difficult to find in lower Circulated grades. But it becomes quite scarce in higher Uncirculated grades preferred by many collectors.
