1888-O Morgan Silver Dollar, Hot Lips

Also called the "Double Lips" variety, this 1888-O Morgan silver dollar was struck twice on the obverse or "heads" side. The strikes were slightly misaligned, which is most detectable on Liberty`s lips and chin. The doubled lips resulted in the coin`s nickname "Hot Lips"! This is one of the best-known varieties in the Morgan dollar series, and though scarce in all grades, a Circulated specimen can comfortably be added to most collections.
