Here's a "hoard" of the famous Bryan silver dollar struck 115 years ago and usually found only one at a time. Listed as #22 in , this shows how large a silver dollar would have to be if it contained a dollar's worth of silver (by 1896's standards), and recalls the heated presidential race that year.

"…You shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold," thundered Bryan, launching his candidacy for president. By 1896, the intrinsic value of a silver dollar was only about 48¢. Bryan represented free silver interests and the people, while McKinley represented gold and business. Gorham Silversmiths of New York struck this big dollar, which measures about 52 mm in diameter and contains 823 grains of silver. The reverse features a "cart wheel," to show the size of a traditional silver dollar compared to the size it would need to be to equal to the value of a gold dollar. Bryan dollars are usually available one at a time, but luckily, we have a "hoard" of 5 to offer you. Perfect accent for a silver dollar or political memorabilia collector, don't wait to get yours.
