With a mintage of only 2.3 million coins, the 1904-S silver dollar remains one of the key coins in the Morgan dollar series. The collector desire for this early 20th century silver classic outstrips the available supply of coins, so finding this prized issue can be a challenge. This was the last "S" mint mark Morgan dollar during the consecutive span of the series - the San Francisco Mint would strike Morgan silver dollars only once more, in 1921.
