The 1906-D Liberty Head $5 gold pieces were struck at the Denver Mint in its first year of operation. As the westward migration of the country continued in the early 20th century, the need and demand for coinage in the West grew rapidly. A modern new U.S. Mint was established in Denver to serve the central and western regions. One of only two Denver issues of the $5 Liberty Head, the 1906-D will be an important coin in your collection!
