These Series 1934C $10 Silver Certificates with Julian-Snyder signatures were issued for only 3 years. Once redeemable for $10 in silver dollars or bullion on demand, these popular notes recall the days when paper money was backed by more than a promise. But by 1963, the rising price of silver caused Congress to abolish these popular notes with their telltale blue seals and serial numbers. Millions were redeemed and destroyed, but thankfully a few were tucked away by farseeing collectors.
