1948 Franklin Half Dollar CIRC

Struck in 90% fine silver at the main U.S. Mint in Philadelphia, the 1948 Franklin half dollar was the first year of issue for this handsome silver series. It also represented the first time that a non-president was depicted on a circulating U.S. coin. Benjamin Franklin contributed highly to the fortunes of the American colonies and the birth of the nation. Appropriately, the reverse of the coin features the revered Liberty Bell which hung at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
