1958-D Franklin Half Dollar

Struck in 90% fine silver at the Denver Mint, the 1958-D Franklin half dollar represents the last U.S. coin series struck every year in 90% silver. It also represented the first time that a non-president was depicted on a circulating U.S. coin. However, Benjamin Franklin contributed highly to the fortunes of the American colonies and the birth of the nation. Appropriately, the reverse of the coin features the revered Liberty Bell which hung at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
