Issued for just 4 months and 25 days in 1971, Series 1969B $1 Federal Reserve Notes are now over 50 years old. These notes bear the signature of U.S. Secretary of the Treasury John B. Connally. During WWII, he served on General Eisenhower’s staff during the planning of the North Africa Campaign. Later in 1963, while serving as Governor of Texas, he was riding in the presidential limousine (and was seriously injured) when John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

While the signatures on U.S. paper money often go unnoticed, the history behind the signatures they bear can add intrigue to your collection.
