The popular Ships of War series continues with the USS Indianapolis! Launched in 1931, the Indianapolis became a flagship in battles across the Central Pacific during WWII. In 1945, the Indianapolis was tasked with a top secret mission – delivering parts for the first nuclear weapon ever to be used in battle. Soon after making the successful delivery, the ship was torpedoed by Japanese forces and lost to the sea. And now, she’s honored in rich color on the reverse of this 2021 Brilliant Uncirculated coin!

Measuring just over 1ó" in diameter, each dramatic coin in the series is struck in 1 oz. of 33.3% silver. Issued as $1 legal tender for Niue, the coins in this series are strictly limited in mintage to just 999 pieces – and are available exclusively through Littleton.
