When a hoard of Ancient coins was unearthed, these 2,300-year-old bronze coins of Alexander the Great came to light. In 336 B.C. Alexander became king of Macedonia at age 19. During his brief 13 year reign, he made conquests on a legendary scale, creating a huge empire that stretched from the Mediterranean to India. Alexander's coinage was struck at many mints throughout his vast lands, and due to this fortunate hoard discovery, we now have a small quantity of Alexander the Great bronzes available. These coins feature a portrait of Hercules, believed to be modeled after Alexander himself, wearing a lion's skin. Alexander's name, in Greek, is on the reverse with the club of Hercules above the lettering, and a bow and quiver below. While our supply lasts, you can own a genuine ancient bronze coin of Alexander the Great.
